STARRING YOU AS THE DARING DAME
PulpStar.com creates pulp novels about you or your friends for 50 clams
Big guns, fast cars, and beautiful, treacherous dames: Nothing beats the hardboiled (and charmingly sleazy) stories found within the weathered pages of a good pulp. Except, of course, starring in one yourself.
Enter PulpStar.com, a Web site that allows you to live out your pulp fantasies. Inspired by the lurid stories and dime-store detective novels of the 1940s and '50s, for $50 PulpStar can make you the hardnosed detective hero of your very own pulp. Everything is customizable from the description and names of the two lead characters, to the the text style, down to the look of the characters on remarkably period-authentic covers.
PulpStar also gives you the option of staring in a poster print of the coverr or greeting cards, but the real draw here is the novel. Written by a mysterious author only known as "Rip McCoy," the dialogue and descriptions are pure pulp:
"A private dick, eh?" Mona teased, provocative mirth shining in her eyes.
"Do you have a business card? You never know when a girl like me might find herself in need of a dick."
Pete grinned and fished out his card.
"I'm the best in the business," he told her.
"Are you reliable?" she wondered, looking down at the card and then back up at him. "Nothing worse than an unreliable dick."
"As reliable as Old Faithful," Pete answered. "And I get the job done."
Grab your fedora and load your rosoe, your pulp adventure awaits. What could be cooler than that?
